Its 2019 and our first blog of new year... yayyy!
2018 has been a year of introduction to dental health and basic dental knowledge but now with 2019 I feel its time to take the blog one notch up with the introduction of Digital Dentistry and all the advancements available in dentistry.... So I would like to dedicate this blog to digitalisation in dentistry..
and also my last blog ended with a question as to how crowns can be delivered in one day or what is one day dentistry which I would be answering through this blog...
Time to begin the Digital Journey...

DIGITAL DENTISTRY
1) OPG/ FULL MOUTH Xray
Starting with most basic digital requirements of dentistry that is X-ray.. We all as layman know that X-rays form the basics of dentistry especially Full Mouth x-ray or OPG as its called....
OPG is used to detect the changes happening within the interior of the teeth those are not visible to naked eyes clinically...
OPG is the most important diagnostic tool and also forms a building stone for treatment planning...
At MALHOTRA DENTAL CARE CENTRE (MDCC) you dont have to bother of going to some other diagnostic centre to get an xray done.. you can have an opg done at MDCC with in-house installed opg machine and
get the diagnosis there and then..

2)LASER:-
We all know about lasers since it's common in alot of fields so it is in dentistry...
Lasers were introduced long ago in dentistry but were not much in use back then.. but nowadays its becoming most used technology in dentistry..
Lasers help us to give painless and blood free treatment to our patients..
with it we can recontour gums/reshape them , use it for crown lengthening , expose unerupted teeth, remove inflamed tissue, relieve tongue tie, treat dental sensitivity and the list goes on…

3) CAD CAM MACHINE:-
CAD-CAM being one of the high advancements used in dentistry..
many a time i have used this acronym cad cam which actually stands for Computer Aided Designing Computer Aided Milling..

CAD-CAM machine is basically used to design the crown,bridge,implant,veneer,every dental prosthesis and the mill it with full precision..

CAD CAM has introduced the concept of digital teeth in dentistry and eliminates human error replacing with 100% machine accuracy...
Its this machine that has helped dentists deliver crowns/bridges in just one sitting..
Its the synonym of ONEVisit Dentistry..

4) ORAL SCANNER:-
This is the most recent and not easily available advancement in dentistry...
oral scanner eliminates the need of old school impressions that were bit uncomfortable for patients.
Scanner helps to get the image as it is inside the mouth onto the computer without any error ..we get the exact margin placement with accurate crown cutting scan which further helps to design precise crowns,bridges or dental prosthesis….

Having both CAD CAM and ORAL SCANNER at one clinic makes delivering crowns/bridges in one sitting possible..
